E-wallet Boost is boosting its rewards and cashback options for users as part of several new features being added to its app.
The first feature is BoostUp, an upgrade of its Shake Rewards programme, which adds a redeemable rewards system to its existing cashback for daily transactions.
For each transaction, users will get coins that can be exchanged for premium gadgets, entertainment and gaming content, cashback, vouchers and more.
Users also have a chance to get a 'Golden Ticket' to experience rewards like VIP access to movie premieres, cruises and getaways to Malaysian resorts, and even outings with local celebrities.
Boost CEO Mohd Khairil Abdullah says BoostUp will set the tone for the e-wallet’s next phase, designed to reward customer loyalty with more than just cashback.
He added Boost will start by giving out rewards worth RM8mil, which includes fuel vouchers and exclusive benefits to those displaying the Boost app at selected partners in food and beverage and retail outlets, as well as at airport lounges.
The second feature, CashUp, gives users online shopping cashback of up to 13.5% from participating retailers like Shopee, Zalora, Lazada, and sales channels from services like Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, cosmetics company Sephora and bookshop Kinokuniya.
Cashback earned can be tracked on the CashUp page within a user's Boost app and then transferred back into their e-wallet.
The third feature is a partnership with Chinese financial service UnionPay QR, which allows users to make payments to more merchants, coming up to almost 125,000 nationwide.
Boost also plans to expand to 11 million UnionPay QR merchants across 31 countries soon.
The UnionPay QR compatibility and BoostUp feature is useable starting Nov 1, 2019, while CashUp takes effect Nov 2.
As part of the launch, users will earn RM3 cashback upon activating the UnionPay QR payment service on their app.
