On July 24, Oculus announced that Amazon Prime Video content is now available for the Oculus Quest, Go, and Gear VR headsets through newly-available app Prime Video VR.
On July 25, a VR-friendly version of Amazon’s Prime Video mobile application launched for most of Oculus’s portfolio of virtual reality headsets: Prime Video VR.
As well as conventional Amazon Prime content, the Prime Video VR app offers users a selection of 360-degree videos. So far, there are only 10 of this type of video available, including INVASION! and Greenland Melting.
In addition to having access to the platform’s extensive library of movies and shows, owners of an Oculus Quest, Go, or Gear VR headset can search through titles using their voices.
While Prime subscribers have access to the full catalogue of Prime Video and Prime Video VR content, non-members do not; however, they can watch anything that they already have in their personal library in VR.
Prime Video VR is available to users in the US and UK from July 26. – AFP Relaxnews
