Nokia’s banana phone is finally able to support WhatsApp ... in India

The Nokia 8110 was introduced at the 2018 Mobile World Congress.

Stop teasing us HMD Global, and give us WhatsApp already. 

Android Authority reports that a year after launching the Nokia 8110, popularly known as the "banana phone", HMD Global announced that the smartphone can finally support WhatsApp.

However, the company reportedly added that the WhatsApp support is currently only available to users in India. 

The Nokia 8110 was introduced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, running on the Smart Feature OS powered by the KaiOS platform – which brings many smartphone features to basic feature phones.

This includes Google Search, YouTube and Google Assistant. 

The banana phone also has hardware features like WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth and 4G. Priced at RM299, it has a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash and a 2.4in curved display, and 512MB RAM with 4GB internal memory.

The KaiOS version of WhatsApp reportedly requires firmware version 2.5.1 or better and supports the basic messaging, group chats, photo/video sharing, and voice notes features.

Come on guys ... how long more do we need to wait before the new feature reaches Malaysia?
