Google Duplex can now make restaurant reservations in 43 US states

Until March 6, Google's Duplex has only been available to a limited amount of Pixel owners in a limited number of cities; now, the feature will work on Pixel phones across 43 US states with more Android and iOS compatibility rolling out over the next couple weeks.

Google Duplex, a technology that can make alarmingly human phone calls on your behalf, just became available on Pixel smartphones in 43 states across the United States.

For now, Duplex can only make reservations at restaurants; you simply tell the Assistant the details of your plans, for instance, "Book a table for four people at [restaurant name] tomorrow night." In response, the Assistant will call the restaurant to make the reservation. When this is complete, you'll receive an alert to your phone, an email update outlining the reservation, and even a calendar invite.

Non-Pixel phone owners could also be seeing the tech arrive to their devices over the next couple weeks, as Google announced that the feature will roll out to iOS devices and more Android devices over the next couple of weeks.
