Some people might find it convenient that Microsoft starts Skype automatically every time they turn on their Windows computer. But not everyone uses this video chat and instant-messaging service every day.
Any user who would prefer to have the program disabled until they actually need it should just open their software's settings menu.
Under the general settings, you can then disable the "Automatically start Skype" option and save the change. The next time your computer starts up, it will do so without launching Skype. – dpa
