A nostalgic Google Doodle to celebrate the search engine’s 20th birthday

It may not be old enough to drink legally yet, but gosh dang it, if Google isn’t our favourite know-it-all bestie that we go to for the answers to all of our questions in life.

No matter how silly or downright stupid our queries may be, Google answers them all with nary a judgemental tone ... and it has been doing that for 20 years now.

Google knows that we are the kind of friend that won’t know when its birthday is, but don’t worry, neither does it.

“The exact date of our company’s founding is up for debate, even for those of us who are in the business of providing answers. Google Inc was incorporated on September 4, but for more than a decade we’ve celebrated our birthday on September 27,” it said on its blog. Of course, the birthday is celebrated with a Google Doodle, as it does every year.

This year’s playable Google Doodle features some of the most popular searches from over the years including “What is Google?”, “What will happen on Y2K?”, “Is Pluto still a planet?” and even “Apa itu selfie?”

Also, you can catch a glimpse of where it all started, the garage of Susan Wojcicki, current CEO of YouTube and also a good friend of Google founders Larry Page and Sergei Brin.

Oh,can you imagine how our lives would be if Wojcicki didn't let them use her home to work on Google? ... Maybe we can Google that, but in the meantime Happy 20th Birthday!
