DJI launched the Mavic 2 Pro which has an integrated Hasselblad camera for taking even better aerial photos and videos. Its 1in CMOS sensor is claimed to capture four times as many levels of colour per channel compared to the previous Mavic Pro.

The Mavic 2 Pro can snap a 20-megapixel image and has an adjustable aperture of f/2.8 to f/11, handy for various lighting conditions.

Then there’s the new Mavic 2 Zoom model which allows users to get closer to a subject from a safer distance. It’s the company’s first foldable consumer drone to come with zoom capability – it combines 2x optical zoom with 2x digital zoom to simulate a 96mm telephoto lens, the company claimed.

The drone, which has a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor, has a Super Resolution feature that uses optical zoom to capture and stitch nine images together to create a 48-megapixel photo. This feature is recommended for landscape photography.

It is also the only DJI drone to come with Dolly Zoom QuickShot mode. The mode creates a cinematic perspective by automatically zooming in as the drone drifts away from a subject. Imagine looking at a subject that stays the same while the background expands.

Both new models also come with new tools and enhanced modes. Photo enthusiasts can look forward to the new Enhanced High Dynamic Range mode that blends a sequence of images for improved high dynamic range with the Mavic 2 Pro having a slightly wider range than the Zoom.

The drones also offer four ways to capture a timelapse video, including one where the drone flies in a circular pattern around the subject.

Both the drones will be available later this month. The Mavic 2 Pro will come with battery, remote controller, charger and four pairs of propeller for RM6,599. The Mavic 2 Zoom with battery, charger, remote controller and four pairs of propellers will be priced at RM5,699.

The Fly More kit which comes with two additional batteries, multi-battery charging hub, car charger, battery to power bank adaptor, two pairs of propellers and a carrying bag will go for RM1,399.
