Microsoft has added a dark mode to the online version of its email service Outlook. This nifty feature turns white backgrounds black and does the opposite to fonts.

Thanks to the inverse colour design, the screen emits less light, which can ease the strain on your eyes in a dark environment. However, the mode can currently only be used in the beta version of the service.

You can turn on the dark mode by either moving a slider in the upper right part of the screen or by replacing /owa/ with /mail/ in the address bar of the browser after you've logged in. To get to the switch for the new mode in the quick settings, simply click on the cog wheel in the top right corner. – dpa
