Monster Hunter: World PC version to launch early August

Monster hunters will soon be able to go hunting for rare and strange creatures on their PCs, Capcom, the creator of the video game Monster Hunter: World, has announced.

The action-packed RPG, which sees gamers collecting weapons and training up their character to fulfil the title role, will first launch as a download via the Steam platform on Aug 9, with a boxed version of the game arriving in stores in September.

Capcom says all expansion packs that have so far been released for the console version of the game will later be made be available to PC gamers at no extra cost.

Gamers will need at least an Intel Core i5 4460 processor or an AMD FX-6300 processor, 8 GB RAM and 20 GB free on their hard drive to experience the game in full HD at 30 frames per second. The publisher recommends at least a GeForce GTX 760 or a Radeon R7 260x graphics card with 2 GB of video memory. — dpa
