Alexa to teach ‘Call of Duty’ players better skills

Amazon's AI assistant Alexa has added a new Skill to its feature set that is intended to help players improve at action game Call of Duty. 

By allowing Amazon and Call of Duty accounts to network with each other, players can access personal recommendations such as game mode strategies, optimised loadouts, and areas for improvement. 

Amazon's Alexa can deliver in-game statistics via a computerised male voice, and can be used inside or outside of live play. 

 

Wouldn't using an all-seeing AI be considered cheating? 

Perhaps not when the Call of Duty Alexa Skill was built by Activision, publisher of Call of Duty itself. 

It “provides you with critical intel, personalised instruction and essential after-action reports in real-time so you can take your game to the next level – whether you're a battle-hardened vet or rookie,” reads the official Call of Duty website. 

Currently in beta, it can be activated by enabling the Call of Duty skill through Amazon's Alexa website or dedicated app, then linking Alexa to a specific Call of Duty account. 

Call of Duty Alexa Skill currently supports Call of Duty: World War II.
