Smartwatches with the Android Wear operating system will now feature a new dot indicating new or unread notifications.

Depending on the manufacturer and the device's home screen or watch face design, the notifications can appear in different contexts and be highlighted in certain colours. This feature can be customised by the user.

Part of Google's update is also a mini-circle where the number of unread messages will appear. Since the release of the Android Wear 2.0, Android smartwatches can be updated via the Google Play Store. — dpa
