Buying games today is easier than ever. You don’t even have to leave home as you can get them from online stores such as the PlayStation Network (PSN) and Steam.
However, you will need a credit or debit card to make a purchase which can be a problem, especially for students.
With this in mind, Sony Interactive Entertainment Hong Kong Limited is making its PSN prepaid cards available for purchase at 7-Eleven stores nationwide and in the future at Giant, Tesco and Cosway outlets.
According to Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia deputy president Hiroyuki Oda, the move is part of the company’s efforts to make digital purchases on PSN more accessible to all gamers in the region.
He says more than 10,000 retail outlets in Southeast Asia will be carrying the cards.
Previously, the prepaid cards were mainly sold through gaming shops and electronics retailers.
Other than PSN prepaid cards, which are priced RM100 and RM250, you can also get the PlayStation Plus membership cards for three months (RM43) and 12 months (RM129).
PS Plus is Sony’s premium membership service which allows gamers to play multiplayer games on the PS4 and download selected free games every month.
