Pepsi is on its way to developing its own Android smartphone in China.
After news of the project first began making headlines in October, a new crowdfunding campaign launched has confirmed plans to bring a Pepsi-branded phone to the market.
The Pepsi Phone P1 is a mid-range 4G handset with 5.5in HD display, with 2GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel to 15-megapixel camera. It also features fingerprint scanning identification.
Straight out of the gate the crowdfunding campaign has raised more than US$120,640 (RM517,725) within a day of being launched.
The fundraising goal is set for about US$470,000 (RM2mil) by Dec 3.
No word on whether or not there are plans to launch the phone outside China. — AFP Relaxnews
