A new smartphone, watch and shoes presented at Lenovo Tech World

PROJECTOR PHONE: The Lenovo Smart Cast can project photos or video onto any surface, but also a keyboard or piano keys.
At Lenovo Tech World, Chinese manufacturer Lenovo demonstrated its vision of computing and emerging technology and presented a plethora of new devices and concepts, including a smartphone with an integrated focus-free laser projector, a watch with two screens and a pair of connected shoes.

Among other novelties, Lenovo unveiled some new laptop computers (Lenovo Z41, Z51 and the Ideapad 100), as well as Cast, a flash drive used to watch content from a mobile device on a big screen, similar to Google's Chromecast.

In partnership with Microsoft, Lenovo has also announced a new service that allows the company to extend digital assistant Cortana to non-Microsoft services. While Cortana in Windows 10 will search local PC content and data stored in OneDrive, Lenovo's REACHit service will allow Cortana to search for files on Dropbox, Google Drive, and Box.

Lenovo also presented three spectacular new concepts.

A smartphone with built-in projector

Lenovo unveiled the Smart Cast, the world's first smartphone with an integrated focus-free laser projector. In addition to the pre-existing wall projection mode, it has a "surface mode," which requires twisting the projector cap at the top in order to beam a fully functioning keyboard or set of piano keys for the user. Celebrated pianist Lang Lang performed a demonstration of this use on stage.

A double screen connected watch

The Magic View Smartwatch is a watch outfitted with two screens. Beneath the main screen, a tiny window allows for the viewing of images magnified up to 20x simply by bringing it closer to the eye. Lenovo says it uses optical reflection to achieve this. Though the concept itself is impressive, the practice is less user-friendly.

'Intelligent' shoes

Lenovo also presented a pair of sneakers with a flexible screen on the side that can display the wearer's mood, or directions to a specific destination, all the while recording heart beat and calories burned. This prototype is the perfect example of Lenovo's continual work in the realm of connected objects.
