RIM woos app makers with Marmalade software

BANGALORE: Research In Motion Ltd said software development kit (SDK) maker Marmalade will offer licences to mobile applications developers to bring their games and apps to the BlackBerry 10 smartphones and PlayBook tablets.

RIM, which has been trying to boost its library of apps to better compete with rivals such as Apple Inc, said the offer is expected to bring up thousands of new apps before its BlackBerry 10 hits market early next year.
