Consumers and professionals who work with images and require accurate colour reproduction will be happy to note that the Samsung Series 9 LS27B970D is made to meet the demands of photo editors.

This Series 9 monitor is individually tuned by experts in the factory before it is shipped, and comes with built-in self-calibration software with extensive controls for tweaking white balance, gamma and colour further.

Based on Samsung’s PLS (plane to line switching) panel and with a wide viewing angle and resolution of 2560 x 1440-pixels, this model has LED-backlit screen with premium materials like stainless steel and edge-to-edge glass.

The monitor also has a stand that allows for tilting and height adjustment and a base that integrates the monitor controls and is fitted with 7-watt, 2-channel speakers.

The Series 9 comes with dual-link DVI, HDMI out, DisplayPort and USB port. One interesting feature of the Series 9 is that it comes with support for MHL (mobile high definition link) which allows a variety of Android smartphones and Tablets to be connected and have their displays mirrored on the monitor.

The monitor is currently only available as a 27in model and will be in the market in early June. The price has yet to be announced. — TAN KIT HOONG
