Compact yet powerful scanner

Canon has introduced a new compact high-performance portable scanner it calls the imageFORMULA P-125.

Touted as one of the most compact A4-size document scanners on the market, this scanner weighs in at just 1kg and yet can scan at 15ppm (pages per minute) or 30ppm using a 20-sheet automatic document feeder.

Scan quality is at up to 600dpi, but what’s unique about the P-125 is that it has a built-in card scanner where users can simply insert plastic or paper-based cards for easy scanning.

The scanner will even be able to read embossed details in identity cards and credit cards and comes bundled with the Presto! BizCard software for recognising and converting the information from the card into a searchable database.

A convenient feature is the CaptureOnTouch Full Auto Mode, which, as the name suggests automatically detects document size, scanning resolution, straightens images and even skips blank pages without the need for user intervention.

The P-125 is available now at a recommended retail price of RM1,320.
