Pernama allocates RM1mil for computer subsidies

KUALA LUMPUR: The Armed Forces Trading Corporation of Malaysia (Pernama) has allocated a subsidy of RM1mil for the “One Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) Family-One Computer” project.

“Each year, Pernama will distribute some of its profits for social welfare activities and offer items at low prices for members of the MAF,” Chief of Defence Forces Gen Tan Sri Azizan Ariffin said at the project launch here yesterday.

He said Pernama is committed to easing the burden of MAF personnel, their families, members of the Malaysian Armed Forces Family Welfare Body (Bakat) and special children.

He added that the organisation’s efforts to keep MAF personnel and their families up-to-date with technological development and turn them into IT-savvy individuals should be commended. — Bernama
