Dragon’s Crown starts off with a familiar fantasy premise: There are adventurers, there are dungeons, and there’s treasure. Dragons may be involved. Now, go forth and be a hero by beating the living daylights out of the monsters that stand in your way.

Sure, it sounds simple, but simple can also be extremely enjoyable and spectacularly well-crafted. Dragon’s Crown is a finely polished 2D side-scrolling brawler that harkens back to the golden days of arcade games, and it is, more than anything, an amazingly beautiful work of art.
