KFC was never on the boycott list, says BDS

THE Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions for Palestine (BDS Malaysia) chairman Prof Nazari Ismail said in a statement on Instagram that KFC has never been on the Malaysian BDS boycott list.

“We have never campaigned for Malaysians to boycott KFC from the past until now,” he said.

According to Nazari, KFC had not provided the Israeli military with free meals from its branch in Israel, and therefore, was not part of the list.

QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd, in a statement on Apr 29, 2024, said the company’s focus remains on providing quality products and services to customers while contributing positively to the Malaysian economy through job security for its 18,000 team members in the country, of which, approximately 85% are Muslims.

The company has been serving Malaysians for over 50 years.

QSR Brands added that it continues to be among the largest taxpayers in Malaysia and takes pride in being able to give back to the community through KFC Add Hope and the Wakalah Zakat Fund.
