Australian International School Malaysia reaches the top

AISM, recognised as one of the top Australian international schools in the world, has achieved the best examination results in the school’s history.

THE Australian International School, Malaysia (AISM) is proud to have its students excel in their New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC) examination 2021, as one of the top Australian international schools in the world.

This year’s outstanding performance sees some 50% of the results in the top two bands: Bands 5 (scores above 80%) and 6 (scores above 90%).

This is a whopping 34% increase from last year. Furthermore, some 17% of students made it to the highest bands with scores above 90% and is touted to be the best results ever in the school's history.

Meanwhile, 36% AISM students were awarded the Distinguished Achievers status for achieving a grade A in the highest band for one or more courses.

Besides that, one exceptional student is on the Honour Roll for Chemistry, English Ext.1, English Ext.2, Legal Studies, as well as Mathematics Advanced and was also awarded Top Achiever and second placed globally for English Extension 2.

50/50 assessment method

Ranked among the Top 100 New South Wales Schools, according to the NSW Education Standards Authority, AISM provides a holistic and well-rounded education founded on research and data as one of the first to introduce visible learning in its curriculum.

AISM follows the Australian curriculum and recognises the central importance of disciplinary knowledge, skills and understanding, general capabilities and cross-curricular priorities.

Citing this, the HSC is based on a 50/50 assessment method, with half of the final score made up of school-based assignments, exams and projects, and the other from an external assessment.

The course is completed in the Year 11 and Year 12 of the student’s education period, which offers flexibility, a broad range of subjects and an assessment approach similar to that of a university experience.

As such, AISM prepares its students for university programmes along with the visible learning approach, holistic teaching and learning methods to set its students apart from the crowd.

Preparing students for future success

With academic performance at AISM going from strength-to-strength as well as an Australian curriculum accepted by most top universities in the world, the school wishes all AISM graduates of 2021 all the best for their future.

Trained and taught in one of the most prestigious schools in Malaysia through an education framework that has prepared them to utilise their potential to the fullest, AISM believes it prepares its students for success in whatever career path they choose to embark on.
