(Reuters) - The four Grand Slams offer a trophy and place in the history books but they also provide serious financial incentives.

Here is what you need to know about the prize pot on offer at 2024 Wimbledon, the third major of the year:

* The main draws run from July 1 to July 14.

* The total prize money is 50 million pounds ($63.47 million).

* It has increased 11.9% from 2023.

HOW MUCH WILL MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SINGLES PLAYERS EARN?

* First round: 60,000 pounds

* Second round: 93,000 pounds

* Third round: 143,000 pounds

* Round of 16: 22,6000 pounds

* Quarter-finals: 375,000 pounds

* Semi-finals: 715,000 pounds

* Runner-up: 1.4 million pounds

* Champion: 2.7 million pounds

* The winners of the men's and women's singles in 2023, Carlos Alcaraz and Marketa Vondrousova, received 2.35 million pounds each in prize money.
