(Reuters) -The United States set the world record in the women's 4x100 metres medley relay at the world championships in Singapore on Sunday.

Regan Smith, Kate Douglass, Gretchen Walsh and Torri Huske's time of 3:49.34 eclipsed the previous mark of 3:49.63 set by the U.S. team at the Paris Olympics last year.
