SYDNEY (Reuters) - James Magnussen is to seek a second opinion after being advised to rest his injured shoulder less than three months before he defends his 100 metre freestyle title at the world swimming championships, the Australian reported on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old, who will be gunning for a third successive gold in the blue riband event in Russia in August, was given the advice by a consultant after tearing a muscle under his left shoulder blade.
