Rachel exits Carol Weymuller Open after quarter-final loss

KUALA LUMPUR: National squash player Rachel Arnold's bid to reach the Carol Weymuller Open semi-finals ended in disappointment after a loss to Egypt's Farida Mohamed early on Saturday (Feb 1) morning.

Despite being the fifth seed and having triumphed in all four of their previous encounters, including denying Farida the title in the China Open final last November, Rachel faced a formidable opponent.

The world No. 14, Farida, displayed a significantly different game from their last meeting three months ago, challenging Rachel throughout the match.

After a gruelling 55-minute contest, Rachel succumbed 11-5, 10-12, 17-15, 6-11, 8-11, marking her first defeat to the Egyptian.
