Squash: Aira storms into World Junior Championships final

Aira Azman (front) is now just one step away from capturing the World Junior Championships title.

PETALING JAYA: Aira Azman has become the first Malaysian woman since Datuk Nicol David in 2001 to reach the World Junior Squash Championships final.

Aira stormed into the final after stunning second seed Fayrouz Aboelkheir of Egypt 12-10, 11-7, 11-8 in Melbourne on Saturday (July 22).

The 18-year-old, who was the only non-Egyptian to make the last four, will take on either defending champion Amina Orfi or Malak Khafagy for the title tomorrow (July 23).
