Nicol in second round of Eindhoven Open and up against World No. 2

PETALING JAYA: National squash player Nicol David has advanced into the second round of the Eindhoven Open in Netherlands.

The 35-year-old overcame Egyptian Rowan Elaraby 11-8, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7 in the first round on Tuesday (April 9).

The eight-time world champion's next test is against another Egyptian, 23-year-old and world No. 2 Nour El Sherbini.

The Malaysian world No. 19 will have to find her best form in order to beat Sherbini.

Nicol is at a distinct disadvantage having lost eight of their last meetings.
