Shooter Chee Kheng ends 32-year wait with trap gold

BANGKOK: National shooter Ong Chee Kheng fired down the gold medal in the men’s individual trap event on Tuesday (Dec 16). 

The 43-year-old Chee Kheng from Sarawak scored 39 points to outclass his opponents at the Photharam Shooting Range in Ratchaburi. 

It is Chee Kheng's first gold in 32 years since it was last won by Heng Chai Yee at the 1993 SEA Games in Singapore. 

The Philippines' Hagen Topacio took silver with 38 points, while Singapore’s Andreas Boki settled for bronze with 30 points.

The Malaysian had won a bronze at the 2019 SEA Games in Manila.
