Rugby-Wales call up uncapped Deaves to replace injured skipper Morgan

(Reuters) -Wales have called up uncapped back-row forward Harri Deaves to replace captain Jac Morgan in their squad for the Autumn International series after the latter suffered a dislocated shoulder in Sunday’s 52-28 loss to Argentina.

Morgan will not feature in Wales’ matches against Japan on Saturday, New Zealand and world champions South Africa.

Deaves, 24, plays for Ospreys in the United Rugby Championship.

"We’re all gutted to lose Jac, he’s a world-class player, as well as a great man off the pitch," Wales coach Steve Tandy said in a statement on Tuesday.

"But this gives an opportunity now for someone else and Harri has been performing strongly for the Ospreys for a consistent period."
