(Reuters) - A shirt worn by scrum-half Gareth Edwards when he scored a famous try for the Barbarians in a test match against New Zealand in 1973 was sold at auction for a world record of 240,000 pounds ($286,776.00) on Friday.
The price beats the previous record for a rugby jersey of 180,000 pounds paid in 2015 for a shirt worn by New Zealand captain Dave Gallaher in a test match against Wales in 1905.
