Terengganu mourn loss of Sukma softball coach


PETALING JAYA: Terengganu's Malaysia Games (Sukma) contingent suffered a devastating loss after their softball coach Shymin Amirul Wan Mohd Sofli passed away during a match at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in Bangi on Sunday (Aug 16). 

Shymin reportedly collapsed on the field during the boys’ team’s match against Negri Sembilan. 

“The entire Sukma XXII community would like to express their condolences to the family of the late Shymin Amirul Wan Mohd Sofli,” the Sukma Secretariat shared on their social media page. 

“The Sukma Secretariat has decided to pay tribute and observe a one-minute silence at the start of each match on Monday,” 

Terengganu went on to win their match against Negri Sembilan 14-9, while the girls’ team beat Kelantan 21-1 on Sunday.
