PETALING JAYA: National lawn bowler Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple staged a late rally but it was not enough to force a tie-breaker as he eventually lost the men's singles final 0-2 to Sam Tolchard of England at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow.

Izzat lost 0-8 and 6-8 in the men's singles final to claim the silver medal for Malaysia.

It is the second silver medal for Malaysia in the lawn bowls competition today as the women's pairs of Aleena Ahmad Nawawi-Syafiqa Haidar Afif Abdul Rahman were beaten 0.5-1.5 by England duo of Amy Pharaoh-Sian Honnor earlier.
