PETALING JAYA: Hakim Danish Ramli picked up three valuable points after finishing 13th in the Moto3 race at the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain yesterday.
The 18-year-old, who rides for the AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi team, did not have the best of starts and had to fight hard to defend his position in the top 15.
On Saturday, Danish did his best to secure a decent position in the qualifying session and managed to end the day with the 10th fastest time of 1:45.273s in the shootout.
Spaniard Maximo Quiles of CFMoto Gaviota Aspar Team won the 19-lap race from pole position ahead of compatriot Adrian Fernandez, who rides for Leopard Racing.
David Munoz of Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP completed the all-Spanish front row by taking third place.
Terengganu-born Hakim is no stranger to the Jerez circuit, having previously claimed back-to-back second-place finishes at the same venue during the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup last year.
He is currently 15th on the riders standings with 12 points while Quiles lead the championship with 90 points.
