Taufiq to build on Hannah Yeoh’s work at Youth and Sports Ministry

PUTRAJAYA: Newly appointed Youth and Sports Minister Dr Taufiq Johari has pledged to continue the work initiated by his predecessor Hannah Yeoh as he officially began his duties at the Youth and Sports Ministry.

Taufiq, together with his deputy Mordi Bimol, reported for duty at the ministry after taking the oath at Istana Negara on Wednesday (Dec 17).

In his first remarks as Youth and Sports Minister, the Sungai Petani Member of Parliament urged all parties to give him time to review all matters under the ministry.

At the same time, he praised the efforts carried out by Hannah and her former deputy Adam Adli over the past three years during their tenure.

“Both the Honourable Minister and Deputy Minister have carried out very strong and solid work. I am certain that the continuity of this work will be maintained by myself and my deputy.

“Most importantly, this will be done with the assistance and support of the ministry’s secretary general Datuk Dr Nagulendran, who has been highly committed and instrumental in jointly developing the Youth and Sports Ministry,” said Taufiq.

Hannah has since been reassigned to lead the Federal Territories Ministry, while Adam Adli was appointed Deputy Higher Education Minister.
