BANGKOK: Thor Chuan Leong reclaimed his men's snooker 6-red crown in style, shutting out host country cuiest Poramin Danjirakul in the final at Thunder Dome in Muang Thong Thani on Friday (Dec 12).

The 37-year-old overpowered the Thai player 5-2 to regain the SEA Games gold medal he last won in the event when Myanmar hosted the SEA Games in 2013.

Chuan Leong thus extended Malaysia's outstanding record in the 6-red singles event after the feats by Lim Kok Leong and Moh Keen Hoo in Vietnam (2022) and Cambodia (2023).

Chuan Leong now has a chance to add to his gold medal tally if he and teammates Kok Leong and Keen Ho can reach the men's team snooker final.

But they first must beat hosts Thailand in the men's team semi-finals on Saturday (Dec 13).
