Bodybuilder suspended after testing positive for banned substance

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian sports scene has been hit by its first doping case after a bodybuilder was provisionally suspended by the Malaysian Anti-Doping Agency (ADAMAS) for testing positive for a banned substance at the National Bodybuilding Championship.

The sample taken from the bodybuilder during the 53rd National Bodybuilding Championship, which was held in Johor Baru from Aug 3-4, revealed the presence of prohibited substances including stanozolol and its metabolites such as Stanozolol-1, N-glucuronide and 16β-Hydroxy-stanozolol.
