KUCHING: Sarawak petanque athlete Dayang Nurulnuhaa Fasihah Abang Misbahhuddin could not hold back her tears after winning the girls' shooting gold medal in Malaysia Games (Sukma).

Dayang emerged victorious after securing a narrow 29-27 victory over Nur Arissa Qasreena Ratinan of Federal Territories in the final at the Santubong Petanque Arena on Sunday (Aug 18).

Johor’s Norissyakila Mohd Sani took bronze after beating 29-26 Fatin Raifana Abdul Rahman from Sarawak in the bronze-medal match.

In the boy's shooting category, Khairul Amirul Zamrulhisham of Melaka crowned the title after defeating 37-28 Selangor’s Ayzek Hakimi Safingan in the final.

Pahang’s Mohd Harith Muhaimin Hafaizul outplayed Selangor’s Mohd Raziq Abdul Rahim 26-25 to secure bronze.
