THERE were just 15 seconds to go when a swinging counter-attack punch left Mohd Arif Afifuddin Malik with a bruised left eye – and he was forced to hold on for dear life.

The 23-year-old karate kid did – and took home Malaysia’s sixth gold medal of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
