PETALING JAYA: Pahang are the double champions of the domestic futsal scene after beating Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) 3-1 in a penalty shootout in a pulsating Malaysia Futsal Cup final at the Melawati Stadium in Shah Alam on Sunday (Sept 10).
The Rangersʼ hero was Ahmad Harith Naim Ismail who scored the winning penalty. The other goalscorers were Sergio Jamur and Akmarulnizam Idris.
JDT's only penalty was scored by Thanatul Thadavirot as Firdaus Ambiah, Saad Abdul Sani and Azwann Isnail missed their penalty chances.
The match had earlier ended 4-4 after regulation and extra time.
The Southern Tigers had scored through Ekmal Shahrin (2nd, 21st), Azwan Ismail (36th) and Jamur (42nd, extra time) while the Rangers' goal scorers were Rizwan Bakri (two goals), Saad Abdul Sani (37th), Awalludin Mat Nawi (43rd, extra time).
