Rider Qabil trades his old pal for new horse to end elusive gold chase


New horse, new hope: Qabil Ambak will be riding on Napoli to go top of the podium at next month’s Asian Games.

PETALING JAYA: Qabil Ambak is taking a bold gamble by parting way with his old trusted horse in his bid to snatch an elusive gold medal for Malaysia in Asian Games equestrian in Hangzhou next month.

The 43-year-old is not just putting his own money on the line to pursue his dream to become the first Malaysian rider to win on the Asiad stage but has decided to bank on a younger horse – Napoli – for the dressage competition in Hangzhou.
