Cheong Min first exponent to win highest sports accolade


World class: S. Suresh won the National Male Paralympian award for his achievement in winning gold in the men’s recurve Open category at the 2019 World Para Archery Championships in Holland.

PETALING JAYA: Track cyclist Azizulhasni Awang romped to his fourth National Sportsman of the Year award (2019-2020) while pint-sized exponent Tan Cheong Min scored a first for wushu after was crowned as the National Sports-woman of the Year.

The 24-year-old Cheong Min was in seventh heaven after winning her biggest accolade, receiving the prize from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at a hotel in the city last night.
