Madhuri dances her way to the kumite gold medal

PINT-sized P. Madhuri danced her way around the mat, showing no nerves as she saw off Thailand’s Khamsi Tippawan in the women’s kumite 55kg final.

Always buoyed by the chants of “Go Madhuri, Go Madhuri” from the Malaysian contingent, the 20-year-old from Sungai Petani unleashed a barrage of punches and the last throw of the dice was bringing down Tippawan and punching her in the chest to win the final 4-1.
