Rudisha scorches to record as Bolt awaits

LONDON (Reuters) - Kenya's David Rudisha broke his own 800 metres world record with a searing run on Thursday to serve up a sensational appetiser for Usain Bolt's defence of his Olympic 200m title.

Rudisha, easily the fastest in the field this year, stormed off with his eye clearly on history, and was never challenged from gun to tape, becoming the first man under 1 minute 41 seconds with a time of 1:40.91.
