KUALA LUMPUR: It is finally confirmed. Malaysia’s men’s 4x400m relay gold and the bronze in the weightlifting event at last year’s SEA Games have been withdrawn.
And the two athletes who were found guilty of doping – Mohamed Yunus Lasaleh and Firdaus Abdul Razak – will now be referred to the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) for further disciplinary action. Usually, a mandatory two-year ban is imposed on those found guilty but the ban could be enhanced in more serious cases.
