SHANGHAI: The third dive – a difficult arm stand three and a half somersault turned out to be her undoing as Pandelela Rinong (pic) did not execute it well enough and failed in her bid to snatch a medal in the women’s 10m platform individual final at the Oriental Sports Centre yesterday.
Pandelela, who was only the third diver to attempt the routine after Chinese divers Chen Ruolin and Hu Yadan, only got 57.60 for her effort and eventually placed fifth in the final, the same position as her debut in the last world meet in Rome two years ago.
