PETALING JAYA: Shuttler Loh Wei Sheng’s hunt for a medal in the inaugural Youth Olympic Games went up in smoke after he had to concede a walkover to South Korean Kang Ji-wook in the playoff for the bronze at Singapore Indoor Stadium last night.
World junior runners-up Ji-wook secured the medal without even lifting his racquet as the Malaysian withdrew on the advice of the doctor after tearing a ligament on his right ankle during the semi-final match against Pisit Poodchalat of Thailand on Wednesday.
