PETALING JAYA: Australian Glen Allerton got his season off to a promising start in the Petronas Asia Road Racing Championships, taking the chequered flag in Race 2 of the SuperSports 600cc category at the Sepang circuit yesterday.
The Red Rooster Racing had finished second in Race 1 behind defending champion Chalermpol Polamai of Petronas Yamaha Thailand. Chalermpol clocked 28:26.841 to win the race while Allerton finished in 28:26.915 followed by Mohd Zamri Baba of Petronas Yamaha Malaysia in 28:27.315.
