MILAN: Newly-promoted Serie A side Bari split with coach Antonio Conte on Tuesday just weeks after he agreed a new deal at the club.
“Bari and Mr Antonio Conte have jointly decided today not to continue their relationship,” a statement said on their website (www.asbari.it).
The former Juventus captain, who led Bari to the Serie B title last term, was linked with his old club last month before Juve appointed Ciro Ferrara as coach.
Media reports put his unexpected departure down to a disagreement over signings and said former Sampdoria coach Walter Mazzarri was the leading contender to take over at the southern club. — Reuters
