KUALA TERENGGANU: Visitors to the annual world-class sailing event Monsoon Cup are in for a splashing time with a host of related activities.

The chairman of Monsoon Cup’s supplementary activities, Datuk Mohd Nasir Ibrahim Fikri, said visitors could take part in water sports such as scaling slippery poles, “duck” race, tug-of-war on water and diving without gear.

“We are also organising a Monsoon Fest and Duyong Heritage Fest at Dataran Shahbandar and Heritage Club respectively,” he said here yesterday.

The Monsoon Cup season is from Nov 28 to Dec 2.

He said locals would also be treated to performances by famed artistes like Mawi, Mila and Abidah Noor on Nov 28.

Mohd Nasir said there would also be a forum featuring Ridhuan Tee Abdullah, motivation guru Dr Rubiah K. Hamzah and Datuk Jamil Khir at Pulau Duyong on Nov 30.

“This year, we anticipate a crowd of about 50,000 to throng Kuala Terengganu during the event,” he said.
