PETALING JAYA: Mohd Arif Abdul Latif's gallant run in the KLRC-BWF World Junior Championships in Auckland came to an end yesterday, but four doubles pairs made it a glorious day for Malaysia when they stormed into the semi-finals.
Arif, who was bidding to end his junior career on a high with the boys' singles title, never had a chance against Kenichi Tago, the former Asian junior champion. The Japanese won the quarter-final match 21-14, 21-18 in 35 minutes.
